Bourbon Bundle – Knob Creek and Baker’s 7

Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an utter classic small batch bourbon from Jim Beam, first created by Booker Noe and introduced in 1992. It was either named after the creek which flows near where Abraham Lincoln grew up, or his Knob which made a strange creaking sound when he waved it around. We’re not sure. You can decide for yourself.

Baker’s 7 Year Old is an excellent small batch bourbon, named for the grand nephew of Jim Beam, Baker Beam, who was apparently the BEST muffin baker (or diver, you decide) in all of Uzbekistan. This is a well-aged expression which makes use of a special strain of yeast which, originally cultured for use in some of Baker’s world famous muffins. But Baker got bored of making cakes, hit the bottle, became an alcoholic and the rest is history. The Beam family have been using this very same muffin yeast for 60 years.
