This limited edition rare cask black has been created to celebrate the opening of the new Macallan Distillery, featuring stunning photography by Paolo Pellegrin & A bespoke flask from the distillery visitor centre.

The latest addition to the 1824 Master’s Series, this is a Macallan with a surprising but subtle smoky character and a distinctive flavour from less than 100 sherry seasoned European and American oak casks.

From the information we have, this special release from Macallan is limited to just 7,000 bottles.

The included pewter flask has been engraved with the distinct logo in the shape of the Macallan iconic architecture and is normally only available at the distillery visitors centre, but comes included with this lot as standard.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: The aroma of Macallan Rare Cask Black is deep and alluring, with rich notes of dark chocolate, black cherries, and roasted coffee beans. The oak influence is prominent, offering hints of cedar wood, tobacco, and a touch of clove. A subtle undertone of orange zest adds a citrusy brightness to the overall bouquet.

Palate:On the palate, this whisky unfolds a velvety texture and an exquisite blend of flavors. Indulge in layers of dried fruits, such as raisins and figs, mingling with the luscious sweetness of caramel and toffee. The palate evolves with a spicy kick of ginger, black pepper, and nutmeg, creating a harmonious balance of flavors that dance on your taste buds.
