Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey

A dark amber red 119.8 proof bourbon with a creamy, indulgent flavor. Notes of caramel, brown sugar, and fruit.

Each year, as part of the Angel’s Envy Cask Strength program, the Angel’s Envy team selects noteworthy barrels from its rickhouses (a rickhouse is a storage space for whiskey barrels during the aging process) to put through an extended finishing process in port wine barrels from Portugal. These special barrels bring forward distinct characteristics in the whiskey, giving each expression of Angel’s Envy Cask Strength a unique nose, palate and finish.

It is finished in Port Wine Barrels offers hints of leather, brown sugar and caramel on the nose, followed by creme brulee and marshmallow with notes of green apple and orange.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Begins with hints of leather, brown sugar and caramel, followed by crème brûlée, marshmallow, green apple and citrus orange.

Palate: Apples, caramel, and brown sugar. The creaminess pairs with orange from the nose, creating a dessert-like richness. Vanilla, toasted oak and black pepper spice round it out.

Finish: Slight fruitiness and grape tannic notes with a lingering spice.
