A full, smoky blended whisky from Compass Box, Glasgow Blend is a combination of whiskies matured in first-fill sherry butts, first-fill bourbon barrels, refill barrels and custom French oak casks to create a complex character. The palate offers notes of fruitcake, sweet spices, salty smoke and burning embers that linger in the finish.
Description
Full, bold and smoky on the palate, Glasgow Blend unites the rich spice and fruitcake-like notes of Sherry cask ageing with the maritime punch of Islay malt whisky.
Glasgow Blend is made with a very high proportion of Highland and Islay single malts (about 65%), combined with Lowland grain. It is matured in a combination of Sherry-seasoned butts, American Oak barrels and hogsheads, and custom French Oak casks.
