Compass Box The Peat Monster Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
¥428.00
The Peat Monster from top blender Compass Box has a staunch following by Scotch whisky fans. It comprises Islay whisky from Caol Ila and Laphroaig, alongside a small portion of malt from the Highlands. Don’t let the monster on the label fool you, this dram has only a moderate level of peat but carries with it a pitch-perfect balance. You can expect notes of brackish water, charred orchard fruit, bonfire smoke and touches of tropical fruit and soft florals on the palate.
Description
A peaty blended malt created by the renowned John Glaser, of Compass Box. The Peat Monster contains malt whiskies from the legendary Isle of Islay, along with a helping of Highland malt in there too. The result is richly smoky, with underlying hints of fruit and oak. Also, the the monster on the label looks like it’s seen something particularly scary, which begs the question: what’s scary to a monster…?
