Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Years Old Batch 4
Batch 4 of Ardbeg’s 19-year-old small-batch single malt, Traigh Bhan is named after one of Islay’s most beautiful beaches, known locally as the Singing Sands. This batch has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, creating aromas of pine needles, fennel seeds, medicinal herbs, hazelnuts, currants and mint chocolate that fill the nose. The palate offers notes of wood smoke, dark chocolate, ground coffee, lemon curd, raisin fudge, lemongrass, menthol and medicinal, spicy notes that linger in the finish.
Description
Intense notes of wood smoke and decadent dark chocolate crash over the palate, followed by a ripple of sweet lemon curd and peanut brittle. The allure of this rare dram continues as currents shift to reveal delicate hints of creamy raisin fudge and hazelnut. Delicate wisps of more medicinal and spicy notes begin to emerge in menthol, aniseed, clove and white pepper. Sweet and peat collide with creamy vanilla fudge, dark cocoa powder, and a warm, woody clove tingle. A sharp, intense, and satisfyingly long finish.
