Kilchoman 100% Islay 13th Edition Whisky

Description

The 13th edition of 100% Islay was matured in predominantly first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, offering creamy and buttery characteristics. Aromas of toffee-apple, candied banana peel and pear drops fill the nose, complemented by notes of sea breeze, peat smoke and toasted malt on the palate.

100% Islay is made solely with barley grown on the island, meaning that it’s a true expression of Islay from grain to glass. This edition is made with barley harvested in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and was matured solely in bourbon barrels, most of which were first-fill.

Nose: Campfire smoke, preserved lemon, orange peel, tropical sweetness.

Palate: Creamy caramelised sugars, vanilla, lemon, pineapple sweetness, fresh ginger, and oak smoke.

Finish: Oily and textured with rich sherry notes and lasting peat smoke.
