Description
A Tomintoul initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Tawny Port casks. The use of this rich Portuguese wine has created a single malt with notes of sweet berry fruits and Black Forest gateau punctuated by baking spices.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Indulgent berry fruits, bramble jam and dark chocolate cushioned with nutmeg and cherry liqueur.
Palate: A wash of blackcurrants, blueberries and Black Forest gateau bound with cosy oak spices and mocha coffee.
Finish: Maraschino cherries and thick cut marmalade fading into a clove and cinnamon linger.
