Description
A well-sherried Arran single malt? Oh yes! This particular expression has been dubbed The Bodega, and after it was distilled at Lochranza the whisky has been matured for seven years in first-fill sherry hogsheads. It’s presented in a rather elegant and handsome bottle. Lots of dried fruit and chocolate over here.
Matured in some of the finest casks available to the whisky industry, this cask strength 100% Sherry matured Single Malt is both luxurious and elegant with layers of rich sweet spice and oak.
Tasting Note
Nose: Orange chocolate, with Christmas spices, lots of dried fruit and toasty oak.
Palate: Loads of juicy sherry influence, with chocolate-dipped cherries, raisins and a touch of caramel.
Finish: Oak spice, dark chocolate praline and oak char.
What some of our whisky enthusiast friends have said about Arran Bodega Sherry Cask
Quote 1 “Strong and intense , but in a good way . Warming but doesn’t burn despite the high abv . Full on flavour .I enjoy this one neat .
Great stuff !”
Quote 2 “Powerhouse sherry cask this. best with water but interesting without too. terry’s chocolate orange and a buckey of sherry on top. plenty spices like cinnamon.“
Quote 3 “As lovely sherried malt from Arran. A touch hot as with most young Arrans. S big dollop of sherry flavour and there’s a herbaceous note that runs through giving heather and a very light hint of lavender. An interesting dram that achieves better balance after being open for a few days.”
