Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch #65
This heavily sherried and cask strength whisky has been a sure fire hit ever since it was introduced back in the late 90s. The story goes that this whisky is based upon a bottle discovered by builders in 1975, when the stills were being replaced. The workmen drank the majority of the bottle, which dated back to 1898, but the rest was sent to be analysed in labs in Keith, Moray.
Description
The latest batch of Aberlour’s extremely popular A’Bunadh series.
A’Bunadh is an attempt to recreate the flavours of this whisky, with the dram made in the “old fashioned” style: matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks, and bottled at a ripping cask strength.
This batch does the esteemed series proud, serving up tonnes of delectable dried fruit flavour, alongside dark oak, vanilla, walnut, chilli powder, espresso, cracked pepper, apples and malt.
The dram is bottled at a fearsome proof of 59.5% ABV, this A’Bunadh is as aggressive as ever.
