Glenfiddich redesigned bottle and packaging is finally here in China and we might actually have the exclusive on this. The Speyside distillery’s 12- and 15-year-old whiskies will be renamed ‘Our Original Twelve’ and ‘Our Solera Fifteen’, in what brand owner William Grant & Sons said is a nod to its original expression, and ‘innovative’ solera process.

Corona Virus Affects Whisky Lovers as whisky distillery visitors centres start to close their doors due to the spread of the virus..  Glenfiddich and Balvenie started to cancel visitor tours with emails being sent to those that have booked tickets, informing them of the cancellations.  Since March 11th, any visitors who arrived on-site at either of the distilleries were immediately turned away.

Elixir Distillers, founded by Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh of retailer The Whisky Exchange, has submitted new plans for its Islay distillery with a more traditional frontage.  In a statement, the spirits producer said it hoped its plans were a “step closer to reality” after submitting a revised proposal to the Argyll & Bute planning department.

Glenfarclas 53 Year Old Pagoda Ruby Reserve is a limited edition bottling presented in a Glencairn decanter that features hand-mounted rubies. The whisky joins the Pagoda Reserve Trilogy, which includes 43-, 48- and 59-year-old whiskies. 

Pernod Ricard’s Irish Distillers unit has unveiled its oldest permanent Redbreast Irish whiskey, a 27-year-old expression aged in Port barrels.

To coincide with the launch of Craftswomen, Diageo has released a new Jane Walker by Johnnie Walker bottling, following the launch of the 2018 release.  The new blend was created by Emma Walker and is made with whisky from the Speyside distillery Cardhu.
